Tips

best dinos

in jurassic park, you can only unlock 3 digsites. to get the best dinos, and the best comments from visitors, unlock the following digsites: chenini formation;judith river group b; the flaming cliffs. from these sites, try to exhibit the following dinos: velociraptor;spinosaurus;t-rex. those are probably the best 3 dinos you can get on jurrasic park.

Dino Fight!!!

make a medium-lage enclosure (enough to fit 2 dinos in) Have a seperate enclosure for the hatchery and a ranger station.then make 2 Dinos (at least one carnivore)tranqulise them and put them in the medium-large enclosure (make shure you have a place to have visitors watch) and have them fight to the death and after do it again with only one new dino and tranquilise them both. Ive done it before and my visitors loved it!

Earn Big Dollars

To get plenty of money, first build a cage, place a park entrance in it and leave a gap in the fence so you can put a path there. Put dino musters (thats what keeps the dino's in) around the gap. build/make everything else you need for a herbivore (tree's, Feeder, Water). Make plenty of herbivores and maybe add some other buildings/attractions and you'll have plenty of money when you open the park.

Photo money

To get loads of money build a balloon tour and take photos of the dinos in the park. Then you should get money for the high scoring ones. When you have the money go to the balloon tour and delete all your photos. Then take them all again and so on...

trap visitors & get lots of money

first get the amuont of visitors in the park then delete all the entrances the visitors will then start buying stuff from shops or go on safaris and stuff, wolla! lots n lots of money.

Easter eggs

go to end of map then wait 30secs.then come back to park entrance and there will be a man in a bunnie costume greeting people.(it gives better reputation.

 1. About this guide

=====================

     This game has been out a couple of months, and I only just got it a 

couple of days ago. This game is for PS2, and is the most awe-inspiring,

jaw-dropping simulation game I have ever played. It's really a mix of

Rollercoaster Tycoon and Theme Park World mixed together, except ten times

better. You start with asn island, no messing around buying land or that

crap, you get the whole island, and you get a few buildings, ranger centre,

hatching facilities etc and you have to build up the park until it gets a

'five star rating'. That's it really, but there's an added twist to it, you

get disasters, such as dinasaur breakouts and tropical storms (more about

those later).

PLEASE NOTE - I will only accept e-mails if they are relevant to the game,

              have the words 'Jurassic Park' in the title, and to do with

              PS2. In previous FAQs I have made, I have had people asking

              me what to do on X-box. I DON'T WANT X-BOX E-MAILS, I will

              just block you from my account. There, you've been warned.

 - Rating system

     When you first open your park, you'll see in the left hand corner,

below your budget, nothing. ut when you get an e-mail from Hammond saying

your populaity has increased, you'll see a half-star, or whatever 'rating'

you have. The rating start at no stars, which means your park is either

new or extremely rubbish, up to five stars, which means that you are a very

talented person, and that your park is the most popular in the world.

        When you get a whole star, you get bonuses too, so it's worthwhile

trying to get them. To get extra stars, make sure you have a variety of

good dinosaurs, and provide visitors with what they want. If you have a

park full of boring dinosaurs, and the visitors are complaining, you'll

get a low rating, but if you have T-rexes and such, you'll get five whole

stars.

     Dinosaurs also have star ratings. A really boring dinosaur such as the

Dryosaurus with only one star will bore visitors while big and dangerous

dinosaurs will give them something to talk about.

This is the main game. You start with an island and build from there.

Twelve quite easy missions which involve all aspects of the game, from

taking pictures to killing Raptors.

1 - Build            - These can be placed on flat ground but not over

water. To build, click on what you want and press X.

A blueprint will appear. If any part is red, then

                       you can't build here. The blue circle needs to be

                       tounching a path for people to access it.

                       To delete a building, click the demolish tool and

                       click on it.

2 - Jump to Safari   - This takes you to the safari area of your park, if

                       you have one.

3 - Reports          - These provide all of your vital information, such as

                       your performance, objectives, visitor summary,

                       security summary, dinosaur summary, money matters,

                       building status and how entertained your visitors

                       are with your dinosaurs.

4 - Emergency Mode   - This warns people of disaster so they can seek

                       shelter. Buidling a visitor shelter will make good

                       use of this tool.

5 - Research         - This is where a group of dino nerds try and figure

                       out new ways of making your park better.

6 - Jump to Entrance - This takes you to the entrance of the park, or lets

                       you build one if you haven't already.

7 - Dinosaurs        - This is where it all happens. From here you can find

                       new fossils, buy dinosaurs and create brand new

                       ones from extracted DNA.

8 - Jump to Chopper  - This lets you jump to the ranger chopper if you have

                       one. From here you can cure injured dinosaurs, or

                       injure innocent ones!

Paths      - An essential, no one can walk around the park without these

Fountains  - These don't do anything, thjey just look pretty and calm

             visitors nerves

Trash Cans - Help out the cleaning crew by placing these, so people put

             their crap in them

Benches    - After a long walk around the park, people need to rest, and

             complain if they can't sit down anywhere

Attractions

Viewing Vent     - These let visitors see dinosaurs at an eye-level view. 

                   They must be built on a fence.

Viewing Platform - These give visitors a raised view an offer a wider range

                   of things to view.

Viewing Domes    - These let visitors get really close but in total safety.

                   They consist of two buildings.

Balloon Tour     - These let visitors look down on dinosaurs. They can even

                   take photos from them.

Safari Zone      - These let people get close to the dinosaurs, and take

                   snap shots of them.

Amenities

Park Entrance  - Otherwise no one could get into the park, (duh!).

Kiosk          - These sell a wide variety of food from sandwiches to

                 burgers.

Bathrooms      - People get angry if they can't find one, so build several

                 around the park.

Souvenir Stall - These will draw in lots of money by offering people top-

                 notch goodies to take home with them.

Rest Area      - This is where people can sit down and take a rest from the

                 dinosaurs.

Cleaner Station - Without these, your park would become filty, and no one

                  would visit.

Security

~~~~~~~~

Ranger Station   - These are where your ranger hang out. They come equipped

                   with helicopter too.

Security Camera  - These warn you of a breakout or a dinosaur rampage, so

                   you can get there quickly.

Avoidance Beacon - These emit a low hum that repels small dinosaurs. Not

                   useful of big dinosaurs such as T-rexes.

Sentry Turret    - These will shoot dinosaurs if they come too close. When

                   I mean shoot, they don't go to sleep, they die. Put them

                   around danger spots, such as large carnivores.

Visitor Shelter  - These offer scared visitors somewhere to hide if they

                   get scared. People run to these during emergency mode.

Enclosures

~~~~~~~~~~

Hatchery              - This is where your dinosaurs come out of there

                        eggs. They are precious, so don't waste them.

Carnivore Feeder      - These feed hungry carnivores if there is no other

                        food around.

Herbivore Feeder      - These feed herbivores if there is no other food

                        around.

Auto-Lure             - These will attract dinosaurs and make them do

                        strange things.

Low Security Fence    - These are used on herbivores that are tamed and not

                        violent.

Medium Security Fence - These are used on small carnivores, which can be

                        a problem if they escape, as they are very agile.

High Security Fence   - Use these on HUGE dinosaurs such as big carnivores

                        which are highly dangerous if they escape.

Environment

Paleo Trees  - These are trees from ancient times. They are safe for the

               dinosaurs to eat.

Modern Trees - These are modern day trees which dinosaurs may eat, but may

               get sick if they do.

Lakes        - These create a small lake. Used in enclosures to provide

               dinosaurs with water.

Mountains    - These look good, but dinosaurs don't like them much. You

               cannot build on them.

Flatten      - This flattens the land, so you can build on it. Can raise

               or lower land.

 - Jump to Safari

     This allows you to jump to the safari zone, if you have one. From 

here you can take photos and sell them for cash.

Thrill Seeker - these get a kick out of watching dinosaurs fighting.

Fun Lover     - these love herbivores.

Dino Nerd     - these like things to be auithentic, like using paleo trees

                instead of modern trees, or having a cage with dinosaurs

                from the same place and era.

tours and tells you what visitors rate them as out of one hundred.

     This sound the alarm for people to RUN!!! They will flee either to the

entrance or to a visitor shelter. During this time, visitor deaths will not

cost you money, as they normally would when the alarm was off. There are

a few occasions when you could/should sound the alarm.

Tropical Storms - only if you're really scared that something will happen

Twisters        - always sound the alarm

Rampage         - only if the dinosaur breaks out of it's cage

Heatwave        - same as with storms

                                 DNA extraction, a must get.

Growth Booster        $3000      This reduces the amount of time they have

                                 to spend in the hatcheries.

Hatchery Immunisation $5000      This automatically vaccinates all new-born

                                 dinosaurs free of charge!

Auto-Lure             $1200      These automatically release a lure gas

                                 which will attract dinosaurs.

Lethal Gene           $2000      This will painlessly kill a dinosaur, so

                                 you don't lose your ratings.

Medium Security Fence $1000      These will hold back larger dinosaurs, and

                                 keep them tame.

High Security Fence   $2000      These will stop anything passing them,

                                 even a rampaging dinosaur.

Visitor Shelter       $2500      These give visitors a safe haven to stay

are nine different sites around the world, but you can only unlock three

of them by gaining stars. You can specify places for you teams to go, or

you can buy new teams. Occassionally you may stumble over opals, silver

or even gold. These can all be sold for a high price.

Glitch: See through the closed entrance gate

Go to your park while it is closed and enter first-person view. Walk backwards to the front gate, and when you are all the way backed into it, turn around. You can see the other side. Note: This only works if you walk backwards into it.

Glitch: Super speed

Place the first two pylons of a roller coaster as close together as possible, with the third pylon as far away as possible. Set the height of the first two pylons all the way up. Set the height on the third pylon all the way down. Sometimes raising the fourth pylon will add to the speed. If done correctly, your roller coaster may get over 400 kph.

don't make a park, well put down a lot of rides but don't connect the walkway to the entrance.
Open the park and all the kids will be walking in the square entrance that was already there.
Let them walk in that same square to you, have your desired amount of cash.
When you have enough, connect the walkway to the entrance so the kids can get on the rides and spend more money!

Fast speed on a coaster

When you build a roller coaster, if you want to make it go fast, put a pylon down and then the next one put that as close to the first one, then on the next one put that has far away as possible from the second one, do this as many times as desired. Then when done, it should go over 400 mph

I.

AWARD ONE: SECURITY AWARD

To receive this award you will have to increase your security.  To do this you

must make security cameras so that they can see at least 80% of the park.  You

can find the security cameras in the ‘Features’ section when you go to the

build menu.  Having more and better trained guards can effect how fast you get

this award.  Once you receive this award you will also receive a floating gold

ticket.

II.

AWARD TWO: UPGRADE AWARD

To receive this award you will have to upgrade at least ten of your rides.  To

upgrade a ride you first must build the ride and have a researcher hired.  Then

in the laptop menu select the research option.  In here you will have the

ability to research new rides, features, shops and many other things including

ride upgrades.  Tell the researcher to research a ride upgrade.  Once the

researcher is done researching the ride upgrade you will receive and e-mail

telling you that it is finished.  To install the upgrade you will have to into

the laptop menu and select the rides option.  In here you can see a list of all

your rides.  Select the ride that you had researched an upgrade for and then go

down to upgrades to install it.  The more and higher trained researchers you

have the faster you can research upgrades.  Once you receive this award you

will also receive a floating golden ticket.

III.

AWARD THREE: AESTHETICS AWARD

To receive this award you must build a park with at least twenty features.  You

can build the features from the ‘features’ menu when you go to the build menu.

I think this award is better to get after you get the ‘green award’ and the

‘security award’ because they both require you to build features, therefore you

will be half way to this goal before you start it.  Once you receive this award

you will also receive a floating golden ticket.

IV.

AWARD FOUR: GREEN AWARD

To receive this award you must have at least five shops with a 1:1 ratio of

shops to trash cans.  The trash cans must also be within one square of the

shop.  You can build the shops from the ‘shops’ section when in the build menu

and you can build the trash cans from the ‘features’ section when in the build

menu.  Having more and better trained janitors can effect how fast you get this

award.  Once you receive this award you will also receive a floating golden

ticket.

V.

AWARD FIVE: PATH ECONOMY AWARD

To receive this award you must have at least ten rides with less than 100

squares of path or line.  You can build rides by selecting ‘rides’ when you are

in the build menu.  The line will be automatically built when you build a ride

and so will the path.  If you want to edit the line or path then you can select

the ride and select ‘edit’.  Once you receive this award you will also receive

a floating golden ticket.

ULTIMATE COASTER AWARDS

I will start this off by saying that getting the ultimate rollercoaster rating

is what the game wants, not what you want.  Keep this in mind while building

your coaster.

RATINGS

There are 10 possible ratings this game will give your coaster.  I will give

an explanation of it and how you can fix it.

The list is as follows in alphabetical order...

1. AVERAGE - This means your coaster is close to an ultimate rating.  You

             might just have to adjust the speed or the height of a drop to

             fix this.

2. BORING - This means your coaster is very close to an ultimate rating but

            you will have to make it faster will more of larger drops.

3. JUST ABOVE AVERAGE - This means your coaster is very close to an ultimate

                        rating.  You might just have to adjust the speed or the

                        height of a drop to fix this.

4. NOT BAD - This means your coaster is very close to an ultimate rating.  You

             might just have to adjust the speed or the height of a drop to fix

             this.

5. OKAY - This means your coaster is very close to an ultimate rating.  You

          might just have to adjust the speed or the height of a drop to fix

          this.

6. SHAKEN NOT STIRRED - Your coaster has too much lefts, rights, and tilting.

                        Make more straight stack without tilting to fix this.

7. TOO SCARY - Your coaster is too fast and has too many drops.  Slow it down

               to fix this.

8. ULTIMATE ROLLERCOASTER - Though it may not look like much, have very much

                            speed, or lots of cool features, this is an

                            ultimate coaster.

9. VOMIT INDUCING - Your coaster is too fast and has too many drops.  Slow it

                    down to fix this.

10. YO-YO - Your coaster has too many drops and too much up and down.  Flatten

            out your coaster more to fix this.

TIPS

Here are a few tricks and tips that I feel are very helpful when making an

ultimate coaster or any coaster.

TIP 1 - When you first place your coaster make the first pylon as close to the

        ride as possible, make the second as close to the first as possible,

        and then make the third pylon as far away from the first two as

        possible.  Raise the first two as high as possible and the last one as

        lot as possible.  This will give you more than enough speed the whole

        coaster ride.  If you are going for an ultimate coaster then I feel you

        should leave the height on the third pylon at its default and play

        around with the first two so you get speed, but not too much of it.

TIP 2 - Most ultimate coasters are fairly flat with only one to five drops.

TIP 3 - Use the stacking of pylons to your advantage.  I feel it is easier to

        get an ultimate rating when make a few that are doubled up.

TIP 4 - Bank your turns so that the ride will run more smoothly.  I really

        don’t think this will affect your rating but it makes your coaster look

        better and run smoother.

TIP 5 - I can honesty say that I have never gotten an ultimate rating when I

        have built and add-on for the coaster such as a corkscrew or

        loop-the-loop so I would avoid doing this if you are going for an

        ultimate rating though I am sure it is possible if you tweak it enough.

TIP 6 - You will have to tweak you rides.  I am serious when I say that just a

        tap of elevation could be the deciding point between a ride that is

        boring to an ultimate rollercoaster.

This is a rough idea of what my ultimate coasters look like. I feel that this

is the easiest layout to get the rating.

This whole track has very little elevation and is mostly kept at the default

level except or the start.  The first two pylons in the speed boost area are

about half.  The minor hills are hardly enough to notice.  I only added them to

fix the shaken not stirred and boring ratings that I had received.  The entire

track in that loop is stacked except of a small piece at the top, so the

coaster will go around that spot twice and then back to the start.

To win this it is pretty much luck but after spending a large amount of money

on this game I feel the 1:4 purple dinosaur is probably the best one and that

the 1:1 red dinosaur is not a good one to pick.  You will need to win 3 or 4

times out of 5 to get the ticket.

TICKET 6: WIN A GAME OF DINO KARTS

Build your track for the ride and the ride it.  It is easier to win if you do

it when you first build it.  Get to know your track and take the inside of all

the turns. 

TICKET 7: FINISH THE TUTORIAL

To get this ticket all you have to do is finish the tutorial that you go 

through when the game starts.  You have to get the park up and running with

some employees, a staff room, rides, and shops.

To win this you will have to rearrange the pieces so it makes a picture.  I’m

sure you have seen these and done these before but I still have problems with

these.  All I can say is best of luck to you and moving those pieces.

TICKET 6: WIN A GAME OF STRENGTH TEST

To win this game you will have to press 'X' as fast as you can and then press

circle to release.  You should release once the glove is out of the screen and

you cannot see it anymore.

TICKET 7: WIN A GAME OF CRYPT KARTS

Build your track for the ride and the ride it.  It is easier to win if you do

it when you first build it.  Get to know your track and take the inside of all

the turns.

STRATEGY 3: This one worked the best for me.  Hit each mole as they pop-up

then as it speeds up I press "X" as fast as I can and move in all different

directional buttons on the directional pad.

Build your track for the ride and the ride it.  It is easier to win if you do

it when you first build it.  Get to know your track and take the inside of all

TICKET 1: SAFE PARK

To receive this gold ticket you will have to increase your security.  To do

this you must make security cameras so that they can see at least 80% of the

park.  You can find the security cameras in the ‘Features’ section when you go

to the build menu.  Having more and better trained guards can effect how fast

you get this gold ticket.  Once you receive this gold ticket you will also

receive the 'security award'.

TICKET 2: HI-TECH PARK

To receive this gold ticket you will have to upgrade at least ten of your

rides.  To upgrade a ride you first must build the ride and have a researcher

hired.  Then in the laptop menu select the research option.  In here you will

have the ability to research new rides, features, shops and many other things

including ride upgrades.  Tell the researcher to research a ride upgrade.  Once

the researcher is done researching the ride upgrade you will receive and e-mail

telling you that it is finished.  To install the upgrade you will have to into

the laptop menu and select the rides option.  In here you can see a list of all

your rides.  Select the ride that you had researched an upgrade for and then go

down to upgrades to install it.  The more and higher trained researchers you

have the faster you can research upgrades.  Once you receive this gold ticket

you will also receive the 'upgrade award'.

TICKET 3: BEAUTIFUL PARK

To receive this gold ticket you must build a park with at least twenty

features.  You can build the features from the ‘features’ menu when you go to

the build menu.  Once you receive this gold ticket you will also receive the

'aesthetics award'.

TICKET 4: CLEAN PARK

To receive this gold ticket you must have at least five shops with a 1:1 ratio

of shops to trash cans.  The trash cans must also be within one square of the

shop.  You can build the shops from the ‘shops’ section when in the build menu

and you can build the trash cans from the ‘features’ section when in the build

menu.  Having more and better trained janitors can effect how fast you get this

gold ticket.  Once you receive this award you will also receive the 'green

award'.

TICKET 5: EFFICIENT PARK

To receive this gold ticket you must have at least ten rides with less than 100

squares of path or line.  You can build rides by selecting ‘rides’ when you are

in the build menu.  The line will be automatically built when you build a ride

and so will the path.  If you want to edit the line or path then you can select

the ride and select ‘edit’.  Once you receive this gold ticket you will also 

receive the 'path economy award'.
